“Clothes should be as interesting on the inside as on the outside. Even if you enjoy it totally alone, it's important.” Geoffrey Beene
Spring Trends – Affordable Items You’ll Feel Great Wearing
Femininity: Return to a softer state of mind with romantic pieces that take on a girlish quality. Big bows, ruffles, and all things frill.
Fresh colored hues: Bright whites and citrus shades breathe new life into old favorites. A shot of yellow lets the sunshine in.
Military and Safari: Military motifs are everywhere. Cargo greens are both on point and practical. Utilitarianism is a laid back luxury we can all afford.
One-shoulder dresses: The shoulders are getting even more attention this season so make sure they are toned and ready.
Petal power: Dress the way spring looks in pure prettiness. Stay close to nature in frocks inspired by flowers.
Shades of Pale: The season’s purest shade is unexpectedly so chic. The neutrals have “it” - beige, flesh, and khaki.
Sheer Transparency: Materials are more transparent, almost weightless. Look for sheer, shimmering fabrics with simple lines. Layer if need be, making sure to keep the fluidity of the material.
Spring Jackets: Wear them with everything- a day dress, jeans, and a cocktail frock. Trench, anorak, or motorcycle.
Structural frocks: These are all about close fit and structural angles. Look for strong lines, asymmetrical hems, and peek-a-boo cutouts that bring on pure fascination.
Textured Dresses: Rough-sewn details give an edge to cocktail frocks. They also add a richness we can all afford.
Tribal Infusion: Ethnic-inspired prints pop in bright, exuberant colors.
Watercolor prints: Dreamy, soft, color palettes are easy to wear, pretty, and more sophisticated than a floral. Start picking out your color palette now.
“I am attracted to people who make this effort in knowing what suits them - they are individual and stylish.”

Secrets of Effortless Dressing
- Know what suits you and your age. Don’t get obsessed with the look of the moment. Instead develop your own trademark.
- Find a talented tailor. Fit is key. Alter your pieces so they flatter you perfectly, you’ll look great without looking in the mirror.
- Layer all your jewelry instead of clothing. Bracelets, cuffs or necklaces create a rocker vibe.
- Leggings are a great staple at any age. Bear in mind, they are a casual piece, and pair with a slouchy top or oversized shirt. They are not for playing dress-up.
- A touch of white turns every ensemble chic, all white is pure goodness.
- Modern means mixing glamorous expensive pieces with much more simple inexpensive items.
- Pair costume jewelry for a more eclectic look.
- Wearing a bit of color, a structured piece, or an edgy shoe adds uniqueness to your wardrobe that translates to style.
- Wear all of your looks with total confidence, good energy, and humor. Don’t let your look take you over. Enjoy every minute of showing off who you are, in your favorite pieces.
